2. Cycle Speed

UV-C: 10–20 minutes. Fast enough for between-client turnaround when you’re fully booked and need tools back in rotation quickly.

Dry Heat: 20–30 minutes. Longer, yes — but that time is unattended. You’re not standing there waiting. Load the tools, press start, and the machine handles the rest while you work.

The speed advantage of UV is real for high-volume operators who need same-tool turnaround within 15 minutes. But it’s a tradeoff: speed vs. completeness. For operators running a sterilization cycle at the end of each service (not between services), the time difference is irrelevant.
